Cookie Policy
The unusual truth: this website sets no cookies of its own. Here's the complete picture, including the edge cases.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to remember information between page loads — a login, a preference, or an identifier used for analytics or advertising. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and tracking pixels.
2. Our approach
activewaterlabs.com is a static corporate website. It has no login, no signup form, no analytics scripts, and no advertising pixels — so it has no need for cookies, and we don't set any:
- No first-party cookies. Our pages do not set cookies, and our own JavaScript does not read or write cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage.
- No analytics or advertising trackers. There is no Google Analytics, Meta pixel, TikTok pixel, or equivalent on this site.
Because we set no cookies that require consent, this site shows no cookie banner. If that ever changes, this policy — and the site — will change with it.
3. Cookies that may appear
Two narrow, third-party cases can result in a cookie while you browse this site:
| Source | When | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare (our host) | Only if a request triggers security screening (e.g., suspected automated traffic) | Bot mitigation and security challenges (e.g., cf_clearance) |
Strictly necessary |
| Sites we link to | Only after you leave — when you click through to mineraldose.com, Kickstarter, or a social platform | Governed by those sites' own cookie policies | Varies by site |
Strictly-necessary security cookies do not require consent under the ePrivacy rules, and we have no access to or use for the data in them beyond Cloudflare's security function.
4. Other technologies
None in use. Our typefaces (Space Grotesk, Inter, Fraunces) and all other assets are self-hosted and served from activewaterlabs.com — browsing this site makes no requests to third-party content networks and stores nothing on your device.
5. How to control cookies
Every major browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies — per-site or globally — in its privacy settings. Because this site doesn't depend on cookies, blocking them here breaks nothing. Instructions for common browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge.
6. Our other sites
Our product site, mineraldose.com, runs a waitlist and advertising measurement and therefore uses cookies and pixels this site does not. It has its own privacy policy covering them.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever add cookies or trackers to this site, we will update this policy, update the effective date, and — where consent is required — ask for it before anything is set.
